Golden boy Jack takes British Youth Championship title!

This weekend not only saw the hottest May Bank Holiday weather but also a National Champion by Newcastle fencer, Jack Bell, from Laszlo's Fencing in Durham.
The British Youth Championships is a three day event in the EIS at Sheffield where fencers who have to qualify via their Regions are then selected to compete in the age group finals.
Jack Bell from the West Moor area of Newcastle, trains at the Fencing Centre in Durham six days a week and is part of the British talent squad.
Ranked 8th in U20s Nationally he won all his bouts in the preliminary round and was seeded 2nd. His semi final against Luke Mason was hit for hit with Jack trailing 14-13 but 2 successive single light hits meant a place in the final! His bout with Nathan Foster from Yorkshire was a not as close, winning a comfortable 15-7 and the title of National Champion!
