North East Development Officer Beth Davidson took the Veteran Europen Team gold at the weekend! This year the competition was located in Gillingham in Kent so Team GB were hoping to capitalise on the home advantage!

Beth was captain for the women's sabre team who were competing on the 3rd day of the tournament, with GB only managing a silver in the grand veterans sabre event on the first day.

After beating Austria and Italy in the earlier rounds, GB were ranked first going into the final against Russia! After a shakey start GB were loosing 3-4! Beth levelled the match to 4 all with only 1 bout left which was down to the reserve Michelle Narey who didnt waste time and comforably took the last bout 5-3 hits and the first gold for Team GB!
